Licensing
REO Visual licenses all of its products (AKA Solutions) per development contract
agreement with the customer. In the absence of a development contract, the license
terms are as follows:
Products:
- All products are licensed for one year from the purchase/go-live date.
- The license includes the right to use the product and support for the product.
- Licenses are for one business or organization only. One company may not share its
license with another company.
- Trial licenses provide a limited time for a company to evaluate the software and
include support. After the trial period, the software will no longer function fully.
- User limits: Unlike many companies, REO Visual does not limit or charge for the
number of users for a product within a company. REO Visual software is by default,
multi-user and designed for a network environment.
- The license is limited to the specifications of the product, including customization,
but does not include OEM components except where specified.
- A customer may continue to use the product after the license expires but without
support.
- Support after the expiration requires a minimum of four hours at the current rates
for REO Visual and can either be pre-paid or a purchase order provided.
Websites:
- Websites are licensed from the inception of the development process, not from the
go-live date.
- Domain Names do not "belong" to the customer, they are licensed from a Registrar.
- REO Visual licenses the domain name on behalf of the customer except in special
circumstances.
- Renewal notices are sent out at least one month in advance of the renewal date and
the renewal hosting fee is due before the renewal date.
- Should a customer fail to renew, REO Visual reserves the right to inactivate that
website or take such action as it feels necessary until the account is settled.
- All content of the website belongs to REO Visual except for original
materials provided by the customer. This license remains in perpetuity while REO
Visual exists or in the event it sells or conveys its rights to another company.
In that case, the company who has been assigned the rights retains them.
Licensing at REO Visual
Products and Solutions are licensed with REO Visual by the customer.
Some rights survive the license period while others do not. In the case of an application
(non-web based), the customer may continue to use the product once the full license
expires with no rights to support or upgrades. Websites hosted by REO Visual must
be licensed per terms of the original agreement.
Some rights may be available to customers by special terms of individual
contracts. In these cases, the written contract overrides these terms included in
this document.
